Armour
SUSPENDING YOUR ARMOUR AT THE SHOULDER
Fix a pair of buckles to the top of Plate L1 with copper rivets and washers. These buckle into a pair of 460mm suspension straps which must be fixed to main body armour with copper rivets and washers. If your body armour is cloth, use leather reinforcing pads. You may find it useful to fit leather or cloth reinforcing pads across the shoulders to stop the armour pulling at the seams. If your armour is mail, use multiple links to fix the strap. Spend some time and get a friend to help fix the straps to the correct place or the plates will "roll" across your shoulder. (See Fig. 7)
The more frequently you wear your armour, the quicker it will adopt your personal shape. Once your armour fits comfortably, never lend it to another person - it will come out of your shape quickly!
ALWAYS FEED LEATHER WITH A GOOD LEATHER FOOD. EVEN SHOE POLISH WILL DO!
